Susan travels internationally to teach and lecture, has written six quilting books, many magazine articles and dozens of quilt patterns. She is the originator of Too Easy Stained Glass™, Give & Take Applique™, and Shattered Angles™, techniques which became the foundation of three of her most popular books. Susan’s quilts have been shown across North America and her work is known for its use of traditional methods with contemporary design and materials. She has studied Design, Patchwork and Embroidery with the prestigious City & Guilds Institute of London, England and has studied with internationally acclaimed teachers/quilt makers Nancy Crow, Jan Meyers Newbury, Elin Noble, Gail Harker and Ruth Issett. Cathy Miller - Quilt Instructor
Singer, songwriter, storyteller, teacher and quilter Cathy Miller (the "Singing Quilter") will once again team up with Susan on her fifth quilting cruise. Cathy started quilting in 1991, as part of her research to write music for a play about quilting, produced at Quilt Canada in Ottawa. Since then, she has become a fervent creative qulter, and has had her quilts accepted into both Quilt Canada and Houston Quilt Festival juried shows. She has appeared on Alex Anderson's now defunct TV show "Simpy Quilts", and other sewing and quilting TV programs. She now teaches classes in conjunction with her music tours. Cathy has performed at over 700 Quilting events on 3 continents since 2000, and has received many rave reviews for her funny, poignant and historical songs and stories about quilting. She has recorded 5 CD's about quilting, as well as The Singing Quilter Songbook, which includes the sheet music, stories, photograhs, patterns and quilt trivia from 11 years of being "the Singing Quilter", http://www.singingquilter.com
